5 Questions to Ask Before Booking a Cleaner

1. Are you insured, and can I see the certificate?

A real cleaner will send it without hesitation. £1m public liability is the UK standard.

2. Do you bring your own products and equipment?

Most regulars expect you to provide. One-offs (end of tenancy, deep cleans) almost always come with their own kit.

3. What's your cancellation policy?

Industry standard is 24–48 hours' notice without a charge.

4. Do you have a fixed price or hourly rate?

For a regular weekly clean, fixed price beats hourly almost every time — the cleaner is incentivised to be efficient.

5. Who actually turns up?

Some agencies send a different cleaner each week. If continuity matters to you, ask.
